TMC will deliver a complete compressed air system to each of the four shuttle tankers, including compressors for service and control air as well as adsorption air dryers.

Samsung Heavy Industries are building four Suezmax-size, DP2 shuttle tankers for Teekay Offshore. The newbuild tankers are constructed based on Teekay Offshore’s new Shuttle Spirit design which incorporates proven technologies to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, including LNG propulsion technology. Once on the water, they will be the most environmentally friendly shuttle tankers ever built. The vessels will be delivered in 2019 and 2020 and provide shuttle tanker services in the North Sea.

TMC will make its first delivery in the third quarter of 2018. Contract values are undisclosed.

“Samsung Heavy Industries have selected TMC’s compressors for a wide range of newbuild vessels in recent years, for a a number of different end-clients. It is fantastic to be asked to be involved with these environmentally groundbreaking shuttle tankers too,” says Hans Petter Tanum, TMC’s director of sales and business development.
