TMC Compressors has completed its delivery of a marine compressed air system to BW Offshore’s Catcher FPSO.
TMC, which is the world’s leading supplier of compressed air systems for marine and offshore use, has supplied a complete compressed air system consisting of 3 x 185 kW instrument & service air compressors and 2 x instrument & service adsorption air dryers.
According to owner and operator BW Offshore’s Q4 2016 financial report, the Catcher FPSO is currently undergoing mechanical completion and commissioning at the Keppel yard in Singapore, which has also integrated the topside modules. IHI Corporation has earlier designed, built, equipped and completed the FPSO’s hull with accommodation, helideck and parts of the turret mooring system at its Aichi Works in Japan.
“This is an impressive FPSO project which I believe most suppliers would have liked to be part of. We have delivered numerous compressor systems to the BW Group’s vessels over the years, so we are very familiar with the high standards they expect. Our cooperation with IHI have also contributed towards our successful on-time delivery to this FPSO,” says Per Kjellin, managing director of TMC.
BW Offshore will operate the FPSO on a contract with Premier Oil at its Catcher oil field in the UK North Sea. The FPSO has a processing capacity of 60,000 bopd and a storage capacity of 650,000 bbl. The Catcher Area development is located 180 kilometres east of Aberdeen, and includes the Catcher, Varadero and Burgman oil and gas fields.
TMC is a thoroughbred supplier of marine compressors, based on 40 years’ heritage in the marine and offshore industries. The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with sales and service offices all over the world.
